Yankee players make fake chalk outline of body mocking Eduardo Nunez's injury (VIDEO)

A day after Yankees infielder Eduardo Nunez fell to the turf in Toronto, a couple of his teammates made a tape outline of his body on the Rogers Centre infield before Wednesday night's game against the Blue Jays.

At the same spot where Nunez went down on the field, Vernon Wells and Joba Chamberlain made a mock chalk outline of the accident-prone infielder on the turf with athletic tape. There was also a wheelchair placed in front of his locker. Nunez laughed when he saw the wheelchair and immediately accused Robinson Cano and Derek Jeter of having something to do with the prank.

"I think these guys have to be part of this," Nunez said. "For sure, I’ve got to find out. Do something, too."

"The video is funny," Nunez said of the clip (see below) of him falling down. "I know. Weird things happen to me all the time, I guess. Now it’s funny because I (didn’t) break my knee, but that wasn’t (Tuesday) night. Now I’m laughing."

The pre-game levity didn't last for long. By the end of Wednesday night, Nunez sounded more frightened than bent on prank revenge.

When Nunez tried to run in batting practice before the Yankees’ 7-2 loss to Toronto Wednesday night, pain flared up in his knee again and he was scratched from the lineup. Now he’ll be getting an MRI Thursday and the infielder is worried that he’s hurt badly enough that he could miss a few weeks.

That's no laughing matter to the depleted Yankees infield.

Robinson Cano: I'll be back from hand contusion 'maybe Friday'

The New York Yankees' quest to climb back into the American League wild-card race may have taken a huge blow, after second baseman Robinson Cano had to leave Tuesday night's game against the Toronto Blue Jays with an apparent right hand contusion — after getting hit by a 90 mph fastball from J.A Happ. X-rays were negative and the team says Cano is listed as "day-to-day."

Cano told ESPN he'll be back on the field, "maybe Friday."

Yankees Huff flips ball with glove to get sensational out at first (VIDEO)

Yankee reliever David Huff jumps off the mound and shovels the ball with his glove to first base to retire Josh Thole on his sacrifice bunt during Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays.

Huff's backhanded flip came with five-innings of one-hit pitching and helped him get his first win as a Yankee.

Joba Chamberlain nearly tackles Jose Reyes for out (VIDEO)

In case you haven't heard, football is back at Yankee Stadium. It's too bad Joba Chamberlain doesn't know that the season doesn't start for a couple of weeks.

The Yankees reliever lost his footing while applying a tag to Jose Reyes that nearly knocks the Blue Jays shortstop over during the first game the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader.

Does the struggling Joba know that the Giants are looking for a linebacker over in the Meadowlands?

Minor league pitcher saves face — literally — with quick reflexes

Minor league pitcher Daniel Norris of the Lansing Lugnuts (the Single-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays) avoided serious injury with his quick reflexes after a pitched ball shot back from the batter and straight at his head. The pitcher was able to catch the ball just inches from it slamming into his face.

Norris had tossed a pitch to the plate in Thursday's game and the ball shot right back at him, like a bullet off the bat of David Gonzalez of the West Michigan Whitecaps. It all happens so fast, but Norris' head looks like it's about to take a straight-on hit, until he snaps his glove in front of his face, catches the ball and falls to the ground. It all happens so quick —  and Gonzalez' frightened reaction and Norris' triumphant opening of his glove to reveal the ball emphasize a story could have ended badly.

But easily the best part is Norris' deep breath and moment of relief as he's laying there on the ground.

This could have been so much worse.

David Ortiz nitpicks Mike Napoli's beard after home run

Mike Napoli hit a game-tying two-run homer in the ninth inning of Wednesday's Red Sox game against the Blue Jays and — in what could possibly be the most disgusting dugout celebration ever — David Ortiz decided to check the first baseman's beard for something.

Whether or not Big Papi's nitpicking turned up any lice, treasure or remnants of Napoli's lunch isn't clear but at least we know the Sox players take their grooming seriously.

Encarnacion belts two homers in same inning, including grand slam (VIDEO)

Edwin Encarncaion had a game he will never forget on Friday night and made Toronto Blue Jays history when the All-Star became only the second player in their almost 37 year existence to hit two home runs in the same inning.

Joe Carter was the first Jay to turn the trick in their regular season finale against the Baltimore Orioles back on October 3, 1993.

Encarnacion — the Jays' designated hitter — started off his inning with a solo homer leading off against Astros reliever Paul Clemens. Eight batters and three runs later, he found himself at the plate again, this time with the bases loaded, and he connected for a grand slam off Hector Ambriz.

Encarnacion slowly chicken-winged it around the bases on his second blast.

The home runs were No. 27 and 28 on the season for Encarnacion as the Jays went on to a 12-6 victory.

Puig shows love for Ryu with dance and a 'noogie' (VIDEO)

What better way to celebrate an five-run lead in the bottom of the tenth inning than doing a little boogie with a brotherly show of affection on your teammate —the infamous noogie.

That's exactly what Yasiel Puig did last night during the waning moments of the Dodgers game against the Blue Jays.

Puig did the dugout hip-shake then walks over to Hyun-Jin Ryu and gives the pitcher a noogie through his cap. The head-rub forces Ryu to spit out his sunflower seeds.

Funny stuff.
